Cool wood touches my palm. I sit in the quiet classroom. Grey light washes the tall window. The view outside blurs with rain. Soft rain taps the glass. A dark paper lies before me. The smooth desk holds everything. A painted moon dries under warm air. The silver paint turns lighter now. A faint sweet paint smell drifts. Tiny cracks show across the circle. A small toy car rests nearby. Pale moonlight paint coats the roof. Grey light bleaches the blue plastic. The roof now shows dull patches. A dry crackle sounds from plastic. I look back at the painted moon. Most silver flakes drift away softly. Only a pale ring stays visible. Bare brown paper spreads inside the circle.
