The Surprise at Tide Pool- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Morning light fell across wet sand.

Leo carried a small bucket toward the quiet tide pool. He wanted to find a seashell for his grandmother. A flat rock path kept his steps easy and steady. He spotted a beautiful spiral shell lying inside clear water. When he reached it, a tiny crab gripped the shell tightly. The crab jerked back, splashing water onto nearby sand piles.

A silver fish jumped from the pool, landing on damp sand. Sand stuck to its scales, blocking movement. Leo scooped water with his bucket and washed the fish. The crab relaxed, released the shell, and slid between rocks. Leo placed the clean, beautiful shell inside his pocket. Gentle wind dried the fish, which swam away after one splash. Soft salt air brought comfort to Leo’s wet arms. He turned, lifted the bucket, and walked slowly toward home.

海水剛退，晨光灑在濕沙上。
