Morning Light Through Glass-

English 原文
Milo reached the botanical glasshouse just after opening, tripod tapping against the tiled floor. His primary objective lay above him: the domed ceiling carried colored panes arranged like a giant kaleidoscope, and he wanted a photograph of the exact moment sunlight pooled on the lily pond below. Visitors drifted between fern beds, but he measured angles, checking a wristwatch, counting heartbeats against the rising brightness. A tremendous hush settled whenever clouds slid across the sun, then chatter returned as the glare softened.
He lifted the camera, yet the strap caught on an iron railing. The sudden tug spun him sideways, knocking a spray bottle from a gardener’s cart. Water arced, droplets scattering an intricate pattern across the stone. Milo steadied himself, breath quick. His cognition raced—shutter speed, aperture, refocus—while the ceiling’s geometry whispered a fundamental concept of symmetry and repetition. He adjusted the tripod lower; glass segments aligned with the pond’s edge, and ripples answered with shifting color.
A hiss rose without warning. Automated sprinklers, scheduled for the afternoon, clicked alive early when a wind sensor misread a gust through an open vent. Fine mist curled through warm air, coating orchids and camera lens alike. Light refracted through each bead, multiplying reflections until the dome’s design stretched across every glossy surface. Visitors froze, laughter rising as shoes skated on damp tiles. Milo blinked at the shimmering chaos, then angled his lens toward the surface of a bronze statue. There, condensed colors merged into a new mosaic no architect had planned. He pressed the shutter repeatedly, timing each breath with the pulsing spray.
After two minutes the system shut itself down; valves thudded closed, and the glasshouse exhaled quiet steam. People shuffled toward benches, wiping phone screens and sleeves. Milo reviewed a preview image, but the real surprise surrounded him: the floor now mirrored the dome, every tile carrying pooled color. He folded the tripod, water dripping from its joints, and stepped aside as staff pushed squeegees across the walkway. Fine droplets rested on the quiet leaves.
