Sunlight in the Atrium-

English 原文
Milo stepped through the revolving door of the city atrium just after noon. Glass panels arched overhead, and angled beams descended toward the tiled floor like silent columns. A notebook rested under his arm; his local endeavor involved sketching the shifting reflections for a poster competition. He paused near a low fountain, eyeing the bright lattice above. Around him, commuters crossed in opposite directions, their footsteps clicking against stone. Each passerby acted as an unplanned participant, breaking the light into scattered silhouettes that drifted across benches and planters.
He unfolded a compact stool and balanced the notebook on his knees. Air vents released a mild gust; loose pages fluttered and a graphite stick rolled away, bumping against a planter. He lunged, missed, then tried again. His fingers finally closed around the pencil, though dust now clung to its edge. When he looked up, the sun had advanced, and the pattern he hoped to acquire already shifted. Lines that once converged near a pillar now spread wider, yet a surprising unity emerged: colors from a stained-glass strip merged with ripples on the water, painting the ceiling and floor with the same trembling hue.
A maintenance cart rattled along the mezzanine. Its spray nozzle released a thin mist toward high panes, and droplets scattered downward. Prism shards sparked through the vapor. Milo adjusted his angle, striving to catch the sudden brightness before it faded. The stool wobbled; one leg lodged between two tiles. He pressed weight to free it, but the frame groaned. Rather than force the metal, he slid onto the floor, kneeling so his viewpoint stayed low enough to keep every shard in sight. The decision cost seconds, yet the scene deepened: rainbows skimmed the fountain’s surface while mirrored arches hovered on the polished stone.
He sketched in quick strokes, filling shapes before edges dissolved. The spray stopped; sunlight mellowed as a cloud drifted across the sky. Colors thinned, and footsteps slowed while shadows lengthened toward the atrium doors. Milo closed the notebook, satisfied that the page held the brief alignment between water, glass, and crowd. The stool folded with a quiet snap, and he joined the moving line toward the exit. Above the emptied fountain, pale light settled on still water.
