Soft morning light rested on the park bench.

Marcus carried a sketchbook and paints toward the pond. He planned to create one bright poster today. A quiet breeze moved each leaf above his path. There was an expectation for bright posters during Friday show. Whenever he pictured the stage, he imagined loud cheers and claps. Suddenly, a stronger gust lifted his top paper into the air. The sheet darted toward the pond and landed on water. He hurried, tripped, and his paint jar rolled across the path. Wet red color spilled, touched gray stones, and slid into cracks.

The water carried the paper further, creating ripples around white edges. Marcus saw little change in distance between him and paper. He looked at the fresh red trail across the stones. He pressed one clean sheet onto the wet, shining track. Color transferred, forming bright lines and circles, a surprising picture. Later, he lifted the sheet and smiled at the new pattern. The pond paper floated away, yet the fresh print stayed safe. He slid the print into his folder and secured a new opportunity. He finally closed the folder with both hands.
