Soft morning light filled the small harbor park.

Leo carried a notebook and three short pencils. He chose a bench near the last wooden swing. A white yacht floated beyond the pier, bright against blue water. The empty page gave a quiet promise of fresh lines. Tall cranes stood in the background, quiet and still. Leo planned a quick sketch before the tide rose.

A spotted dog ran behind him and bumped the bench. The notebook jumped, flipped, and landed open on the ground. Wind caught one loose sheet and pushed it toward the swing. The moving seat hit the paper and sent it flying. The sheet drifted into a shallow puddle beside the path. Water spread across the page, drawing a dark question shape. Leo laughed, lifted the wet paper, and pressed it flat. Brown sand stuck to the mark and fixed the curve. The accident changed his plan, so he sketched the stain instead. He started a fresh sketch on another page.
