The wave raced along the deck and found a crack.

Water dripped through, landing on cold ashes below the planks.

Ash and water mixed, forming heavy mud that slid downhill.

The sliding mud struck a hanging rope near the ladder.

The rope swung sideways and pressed against the tilted board.

The board rose back, halting the cup and the flow.

Moonlight replaced sunset color and shone on the new puddle.

Thin water threads dripped between the boards onto the ground below.
