Cool morning air brushed quiet paths inside the zoo.

A small raccoon trotted near the animal park fence.

Ripe berries glowed behind the wire, bright and close.

A strip of hard soil blocked his reaching paws.

Sprinkler pipes stood silent; ground stayed dusty and firm.

Nearby, a variety of sparrows pecked around fallen seed.

Short beaks tapped lightly, adding a friendly motion to the scene.

Water burst from the pipes; soil turned dark and soft.

The raccoon paused; cool drops dotted his striped fur.

A goat behind him showed a calm attitude, ears steady.

Soon the spray stopped, and sunlight steamed above the patch.

Dry earth returned, but thin cracks stayed along the fence.

Water rushed out again, widening every crack with gentle force.

He pressed his paws into the soft line at once.

Mud slid aside; the gap grew wider than his shoulders.

Spray ended again, and the widened gap stayed firm and dry.

He slipped through, grabbed the berries, and vanished among tall leaves.
