Drip drip comes from the fountain.
Kaya kneels near the pond.
The sun is warm.
A pink rose leans by her knee.
Kaya spots a red ball under the hedge.
She reaches for the ball.
Her fingers stop at open air.
She picks a long twig.
She pokes the ball gently.
The ball rolls only one inch.
She adds more effort with the twig.
Sand grips the ball again.
She drops the twig and picks a pebble.
She flicks the pebble toward the ball.
The pebble taps and shifts the ball.
The ball slides through the gap.
It rolls onto the grass.
The other child claps once.
The child says, "Got it!"
Near the pond, a playful duck splashes water.
A bright insect lands on the twig.
