Where does the soft drip land? Lena sits on a stool. The air is warm. A silver cup waits below. Drip after drip rings inside. The drain system under sighs. She hears the low gurgle. Soap suds rise, then pop. One bubble floats like thought. Sunlight slides through the window. Butter softens on the board. Dust specks turn inside the beam. Two small jars share space. Their glass sides glow softly. Light dances across its surface. A grown-up taps the sink. Steam drifts from a quiet cup. A fresh drip meets the cup.
