Maple Leaf Slips Under the Boat- 適合初學者的英語短篇故事

A red maple leaf slides over flat wet sand. Blythe walks behind it. The leaf drifts near foam. Tiny bubbles pop. The child laughs, "Hi there!" The leaf slips between two low rocks. Blythe bends and looks. A tide pool shimmers below. The pool shows loss of water under the warm sun. Cool air rises. Blythe stretches a flat stick. The stick taps the leaf gently. The leaf glides past a boardwalk plank. An open kitchen hut rattles metal bowls. A small room behind the hut shows stacked nets. The leaf turns inland, crosses dry grit, and reaches a tilted boat. The gap under the hull looks dark and snug. The leaf twirls inside the gap and disappears. Blythe stands still on rough wood. Foam snaps softly behind. Gulls wheel overhead. Blythe brushes sand from the stick and walks toward the tide line.
