Mia walks into the kitchen.

The room is bright.

She stops at the small window.

A flower bud sits behind glass.

Its petals curl but stay closed.

She steps closer for a view.

Steam from a kettle fogs glass.

White mist hides the tiny bud.

She moves left toward the table.

The mist is weaker there.

Now the green bud looks larger.

On the table stands a bottle.

Clear water sways inside it.

A silent drip hangs halfway down.

Beside it lies a wafer.

Its edge bends but stays firm.

Mia glances back at the bud.

One petal now parts slightly.

Outside air is calm and still.

A drip stays on the bottle.
