Leo carried a small soccer ball to the park.

He wanted to practice one clear straight kick today.

He placed two bags as simple goalposts on the grass.

He checked the ground carefully before his first attempt.

Birds chirped above, giving the park a wonderful soundscape.

Leo bounced the ball quickly between both feet.

On his first kick, the ball struck a bench nearby.

The bench rattled, and a sleeping squirrel jumped in fright.

The squirrel dashed over Leo's notebook, tearing one loose page.

Wind caught the page, sending it swirling toward the pond.

Leo ran after it, shoes sliding on damp grass quickly.

He grabbed the page, but his foot nudged a stone.

The stone rolled downhill and bumped his waiting soccer ball.

The ball splashed straight into the shallow pond nearby today.

Wet shoes and muddy hands became Leo's unexpected reward tonight.

He laughed, placed the page back, and kicked again gently.
