Milo walks into the garden.
Grey chalk shapes fade slowly.
Their orange edges look pale.
Cool air is around him.
Small drops fall from leaves.
The drops blur the chalk.
Milo carries a woven basket.
He lowers toward a stone step.
Water pools across the step.
The basket tilts on water.
He slides it under one leg.
Now he sits above water.
Beside him, a puddle shrinks.
Rings move, then turn still.
Chalk dust drifts into puddle.
Orange clouds swirl, then clear.
Milo looks back at the chalk.
Only blank stone stays there.
Soft light stays on empty stone.
