Mother opens a picnic bag.
Inside are bright plastic cups.
She takes four red cups.
The cups sit in a pile.
She spreads a thin blanket.
Plates sit on the cloth.
The blanket has green squares.
She starts to line them.
Fruit sits close to cups.
Juice boxes stand in rows.
She lifts the first cup.
She places it near bread.
She lifts the second cup.
She slides it beside the first.
She lifts the third cup.
The small dog bumps her.
The third cup rolls away.
It drops into sweet jam.
Jam sticks to the cup.
Mother wipes the side clean.
She lifts it again carefully.
She sets it beside others.
She lifts the last cup.
She places it at the end.
